Comparing the hosting lines

WordPress Hosting
or Premium Hosting?

Both lines are hosting built for WordPress and both run on the same fast infrastructure. What differs is how much power a single site gets and how tightly its environment is tuned. Two minutes here will tell you which line fits your project.

Which line should you choose?

Start from what you already run. The exact numbers are in the table below.

WordPress Hosting

Choose it if:

  • You run several sites and want them all in one panel
  • None of them needs more power than a typical site
  • A blog, a landing page, a company website, a small shop
See WordPress plans, from 79 PLN a year (~€18)
Premium Hosting

Choose it if:

  • You have one large site that should get the whole server
  • A shop with campaigns and traffic spikes, an LMS or a portal
  • What matters is how fast pages that cannot be served from cache are generated
See Premium plans, from 499 PLN a year (~€113)

What Premium gives you that the WordPress line does not

Six differences you can actually see on the site. The exact numbers are in the table below.

The site gets the whole server

On the WordPress line the power is split between the sites on your account, so each one has a ceiling. On Premium there is nobody to share it with.

No queue at the cart and checkout

Premium handles many times more parallel PHP requests, so a campaign or a traffic spike does not stop orders.

PHP Turbo, on Premium only

Our own tuning of the environment, with JIT. The same code runs faster, even with the same number of vCPU. Not available on the WordPress line.

More memory for cache

Redis and OpCache with clearly larger capacity, so filters, search and a heavy theme do not run out of breath.

Faster pages that skip the cache

Both lines serve cached content just as fast. The difference shows up where PHP has to generate the page: the cart, the checkout, the customer account.

A setup built around your project

When the largest plan is not enough, we put together a configuration for you. The WordPress line keeps the fixed limits of each plan.

You do not have to pick one line

You can combine plans inside a single account. Ordinary sites stay on the WordPress line, while the site that earns money gets a whole server to itself on Premium.

One account at jdm.pl
WordPress Hosting

one plan, up to 25 sites

  • company website
  • blog
  • campaign landing page
  • and more sites after that
Premium Hosting

a separate plan for each site

  • a large shop a whole server just for it
  • a second shop another Premium plan

When you will really see the difference

Not every site needs Premium. Here is where both lines behave the same, and where Premium clearly wins.

Everyday visits a cached page
JDM, both lines~89 ms
A typical host320-780 ms

This is how most visits are served. Both our lines behave identically here, so a blog or a company website does not need Premium.

Cart and search this cannot be cached
WordPress Hosting~0.6 s
Premium Hosting0.2-0.3 s

The cart, the checkout, filters and the customer account are always generated by PHP. The bigger the shop, the more you feel it.

Traffic spike a campaign, a newsletter
WordPress Hosting10 at once
Premium Hosting20-40 at once

That is how many PHP requests the site handles at the same moment. Above that number, the next visitors wait in a queue.

In short: as long as content comes from cache, both lines are equally fast. Premium wins where the page has to be generated from scratch and where many people do it at the same time. Large shops whose uncached pages take about 2 s to generate come down to 0.4-0.6 s on Premium. See Premium Hosting →

Switching lines is safe: the change happens without moving the site and without downtime. Current customers can test Premium free for 7 days on a chosen site, and new customers get a 30 day free trial. Write to us →

Frequently asked questions

Is the WordPress Hosting line slower?

The WordPress Hosting line is fast: the same infrastructure as Premium, NVMe, NGINX and Redis, TTFB around 89 ms for cached content, and a typical uncached page answering in about 0.6 s. Premium still has a real edge everywhere PHP has to generate the page, because its environment is tuned for the maximum speed of a single site, so the same code runs faster even with the same number of vCPU. On top of that the 3 vCPU limit is lifted and there are more PHP workers. On a typical blog, a company website or a small shop you will hardly notice the difference. On large, dynamic sites it is obvious.

When do I really need Premium?

When you run a large WooCommerce shop, an LMS, a portal or a high traffic site where many pages, the cart, the checkout, the customer account and the search, have to be generated by PHP on the fly. On Premium a whole server works for that one site, with more PHP workers and an environment tuned for maximum speed. In our tests a heavy site went from about 2 seconds down to 0.4-0.6 s.

How do I move from one line to the other?

Changing the plan happens without moving the site and without downtime, so it keeps running the whole time. If you are already our customer, you can test the Premium line for free and compare the results on your own site. Just write to us through the contact form.

Can I host several sites on a Premium plan?

Premium plans are dedicated to 1 site, which is what makes all of the server resources available to it. If you have several sites, you can combine plans: the large shop on Premium and the rest on WordPress Hosting. We will gladly suggest the best arrangement.

Not sure which line to pick?

Write to us and we will advise you in a few minutes, based on your own site. Current customers can test Premium free for 7 days on a chosen site, and new customers get a 30 day trial.

The trial covers the hosting service and a free technical domain. Registering your own domain is paid according to the price list.
